Aimee Knight is the founder and director of the Foothill Christian Legacy Youth Orchestra as well as the orchestra director at Foothill Christian School in Glendora, California where she has been on faculty since 2009. She also teaches private violin and viola lessons.


Aimee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado and a Master of Music Education (M.M.Ed) from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. Aimee has worked with the Colorado Springs Youth Symphony Association and was a GRAMMY®s Music Educator Award quarterfinalist in 2017. In addition to directing music, Aimee plays violin and sings on her church worship team and loves figure skating, musical theater, quality coffee, and cats. She is an active member of Saddleback Church.

Intern/Assistant Director 2020-21

Carl Viyar (also goes by CJ) is interning as the Foothill Christian Legacy Youth Orchestra’s assistant director for the 2020-21 season while studying remotely as a sophomore computer science major at Yale University. CJ was the concertmaster of FCLYO from 2015-2019 while attending Glendora High School. As a member of FCLYO, he notably performed the Theme from Schindler’s List violin solo at Carnegie Hall in April 2019. CJ is an active member of the Yale Alley Cats all-male a cappella singing group. He also teaches private violin and viola lessons online and loves In-N-Out, boba, and tech side projects.
